Sin Fang @ Gogoyoko Wireless

Last night we attended the latest installment in the Gogoyoko Wireless concert series. Guest of the event was Sin Fang (AKA Mr Sindri Már Sigfússon). Setting of the show was Kex, the rockstar among Reykjavík hostels—and in my humble opinion, the only one serving decent beers, yum. With cookies* you can’t go wrong. Ever.

Sin Fang, sporting a Fender Jaguar with red strap and a Fonal Records T-shirt (we approve of both), was supported by his regular band, which among the others includes Sóley on the keyboards. Sindri and band played most of Sin Fang’s best-known songs, as Catch the Light, Clangour, Slow Lights and Always Everything.

This was my first concert in something like… six months? Wow, I really lost track of time… Since I moved to Iceland I tried to attend most shows featuring Sin Fang and Sóley, but for many reasons I had to give up concert-going lately. That’s why the occasion felt especially nice.

In the course of the show I had chance to take a bunch of photos that I hope you will enjoy.

Sin Fang has a new EP out on Morr Music later this May (05/25/12); for those who cannot wait, an exclusive pre-release is scheduled on Gogoyoko on the week preceeding the official release date. The new EP’s title is Half Dreams and it will come with five new shiny songs. Sindri let us enjoy a taste of his latest effort during last night’s show. I’m looking forward to more.
