After the screening at RIFF of his The Turin Horse, which was presented at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival back in February, Hungarian film director Béla Tarr took the time to answer some questions about his latest effort. The Turin Horse will be Tarr’s final film, closing a career that started in the early 70’s. Béla Tarr previously announced he will retire as a film-maker to preserve his integrity as an artist and also to turn to other activities in favor of emerging talents trying to get started in the film industry.
Several contemporary film-makers often mention Béla Tarr as an influential figure for their way to intend their art. His past contribution will continue to be one of the strongest evidence that a different way to conceive cinema is always possible, not only for film-makers but also for film-goers.
