The Nesstofa building belongs to the Medical and Health Care Museum and it is located in Seltjarnarnes. It was built in the years 1761-67 from a project by Danish architect Jacob Fortling and it was used as the official headquarters of Bjarni Pálsson, the first Surgeon General of Iceland. The museum hosts in a permanent exhibition a collection of documents and instruments illustrating the medical history of Iceland in the XIX and XX centuries.
