More Noteworthy Cinema Updates

There are more events to be brought to everybody’s attention.

First of all, submissions to the Reykjavík International Film Festival – RIFF 2011, Iceland’s most important film event and one of the most relevant events worldwide, are now open. The 2011 edition of the film festival is going to take place from September 22 to October 2. If you have material you are interested in submitting, you can now sign up from this page.

From March 17 to 27, 2011, Bíó Paradís, in collaboration with RIFF, the Goethe Institut, the German Chamber of Commerce and Rúv, presents Þýskir Kvikmyndadagar (German Film Days), screening a selection of some of the most interesting recent releases of films coming from Germany. Among the films in program, Poll by Chris Kraus, an old acquanitance of the Reykjavík International Film Festival. Finally a mention also to Reindeerland Experimental Film Festival 2011, to start on March 19 in Egilsstaðir, east Iceland. The festival is in its 6th year of activity and it’s one of the most important events in Iceland for experimental film and video.
