The Last Days of Noise pt. 2

We already had occasion to express our concern and sadness for the events that led to HAVARÍ’s — temporary! — closing. It perhaps wouldn’t be appropriate to express contempt towards the people responsible of this situation and I’m not as informed about the whole matter as I should be to talk about it more extensively. All I can do is repeating once more what I previously said: in brief, the reason behind what happened to HAVARÍ is money, money, money. We can at least blame a very common evil and set our mind at rest. Milking tourists is a favorite pastime almost everywhere and Iceland is not an exception.

We went to as many shows as it was possible in the course of the last two weeks. Not many, but we did our best. These two weeks, no doubt, will be remembered by all those who attended. Maybe it’s just me, but it feels sort of unreal, in retrospect. Perhaps it’s even more unreal to the good HAVARÍ’s people.

Random note: during FM Belfast’s gig I think I got 15 years older in just about one hour… Just sayin’.

We will all be looking forward to see the cultural center and music shop resurfacing as soon as possible in a puffin-free environment. Even if personally I couldn’t be more of a loyal customer and gig attendee and if every time I tried to be I ended looking like an aphasiac fool, I will be missing the notion HAVARÍ’s door is open — you know, it’s the sort of attachment you usually experience for all the good things out there. Hopefully HAVARÍ will be back sooner than we expect.

We’ll try to keep you updated, so check us out for further developments! In any case, the store’s official site is still up and so is the Facebook page.

PS: I am told that music photography in color is much better to attract the casual visitor’s eye. A bit like puffins with tourists. I liked those photos in monochrome, but hey, I might as well give it a go for a change.

PPS: but I realize I am a liar, because I often choose color for this page’s purposes.

PPPS: does this mean I am a sellout after all? Hm, I doubt it: selling out is an art of its own — an art I don’t possess, that is.

Px4S: I know what you’re thinking and the answer is no, we have no power over Google ads.
