In the afternoon, we decided to take our car and travel towards the eruption, as many other people are doing in the country. We took many photos; here are a few, listed here in the order in which we took them, with the first photo being the one taken farther from the eruption. Unfortunately, weather got worse as we were getting closer to the eruption, so clouds around the eruption area obstructed the view.
The huge ash cloud you see in the photos is what is causing all the problems to air traffic in Europe. In the last photo, you can see the cloud being scattered towards east by the wind, and assuming a curious hand shape. Last photos were taken from an air distance of about 10Km from the eruption. All photos were taken by our resident photographer, Pu (check her Flickr profile).
Enjoy!
Thanks so much! I’ve made a collection of photos and am trying to keep adding a few more photos everyday from the eruption.
Your photos are amazing!!
Thanks – great photos – I love the top one on the left!
